QF-4E, serial # 71-0237, wears markings for the Commander of the 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron (ATRS) along with a high-gloss Southeast Asia paint scheme from the Vietnam-era. This aircraft is configured as a drone but often attends airshows as part of the USAF's popular 'Heritage Flight' program. Heritage Flight puts important aircraft types in formation together to show the USAF lineage and combat heritage. The F-4 Phantom is an important part of any Heritage Flight display. QF-4E Drones are assigned to the 82nd ATRS, 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group (WEG) and fall under the USAF's warfighting command--Air Combat Command. Photographed on 17 Nov. 2008. © 2008 Greg L.
