F-4 flying with the wings folded

Did you know that the F-4 Phantom could fly with her wings folded?  Submitted by a member, the photos show such an event in 1966 when a Navy Phantom launched from an aircraft carrier with the wings still folded.  After unloading some weight (mainly the ordnance), the mighty Phantom flew with what was left of the wing's lift and the brute force of the J79 engines.  She landed safely, with a very fast approach speed.  Gee Whiz!
