One cold & snowy day at Oceana-35 yrs ago!!

F-4J, 153769 of VF-31 sitting at snowy Oceana on 11 Feb 1980. 

For those of you wish sharp eyes, yes that is a MiG kill on the intake.  
VF-31's Cdr Samuel C Flynn and Lt William H John got a MiG 21 with an AIM-9 on 21 Jun 1972,
but, it was with 157307, not 153769.  At the time of this photo Cdr Flynn was assigned 101,
so it reflects his kill.  In the engagement it took three tries with AIM-9's before he finally got a good shot.
