I worked on the RF-4B almost my entire time in the aircraft. Unlike the Air Force RF-4C we had no armaments. Our unit, VMFP-3 was the only one of its kind in the Marine Corps.
With the use of drones today many have no idea what it was like back in the days when these missions involved pilots who faced danger.
While there is a book out on the Air Force RF-4C and its role in Vietnam, I am trying to raise funds to write a book on the RF-4B and Marine aerial reconnaiscance.
