Information on Hahn AB F-4's

I posted this earlier but have received no response yet. I am hoping someone can give me some guidance on where to find a listing of tail numbers of all F-4's assigned to the 10th TFS at Hahn Air Bas during the 1966 - 1969 timeframe. Thanks!

DrJim,

I recently read your post and inquiry into searching for 1960's Hahn based Phantoms. Though I cannot give you a full list of 10th TFS aircraft from that time period, I can offer you info on one particular F-4 that apparently did. F-4D, serial #65-0749, was assigned to Hahn (USAFE) in December 1966. This is a fun and interesting note, because tail #749 is still with us, flying with the Collings Foundation. Came across this in an article of an older Phantom Society Smoke Trails Issue. Hope you get this reply and it's of some Help. Kevin

One quick note... My apologies, but I didn't/ couldn't confirm presently that #749 was assigned to the 10th TFS. Only that she was recorded as a part of the 50th TFW during the same time period at Hahn. Perhaps another Phantom Phan can shed some light on that. Question... How many squadrons were there attached to the 50th from 66-69? Many Phantoms were headed to or involved in SEA during that time... Kevin

Squadrons attached t the 50th

Kevin,

Thanks for your response.  I was at Hahn 66-69. I was in the 10th TFS and 350th MMS.  There were 3 squadrons there at the time -- 10th, 81st, and 496th....Jim

Phantoms attached to the 50th

Jim,

There is a book, I thought I had it, that covers USAFE Phantoms... I will continue to search for that book, because I'm sure it will have a little bit more info in it covering some of the F-4s that were assigned to Hahn around that same time. If I come across anything else, I will be sure to post and share. So check back occasionally. Thank you for your service! All the best. Kevin
